Protein Engineering and Molecular Parasitology Lab
    Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit,
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research.
    Bangalore, India.
I have not yet been assigned a project. But our lab works mainly on different enzymes of the purine salvage pathway in P. falciparum, their structural and kinetic characteristics in order to design inhibitors for these enzymes, which might work as potential anti-malarial drugs (since there is no novo pathway for purine biosynthesis in P. falciparum). No fancy stuff anyways..just simple techniques...its the data interpretation which matters the most.
For any info regarding my work...plz mail me at arpit@jncasr.ac.in

I have begun with the course work and the lab rotations here( 2 lab rotations one has to do here). My first lab of choice has been that of Dr. Dhiraj Kumar and the second one is Dr. Amit Singh both of them have joined as fresh PI's just this year and seem to be very promising. Broadly both work on different aspects of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, trying to understand basic mechanisms of this pathogen for survival within the host cell. Its immunology , molecular biology and biochemistry(metabolism ) broadly. For any further information regarding the institute or Delhi please feel free to email me at nimivashi15@gmail.com.
